Phase 4 - Demonstrations and Reference Checking

  1. Software Demonstrations

The three top-rated vendors provide on-site demonstrations. The key users and upper management will be able to get a hands-on feel of the software, evaluate it aesthetically and ask detailed questions. Each demonstration may take from one-half day to one full day.

  2. Demonstration Evaluation

The users and management that were involved in the demonstration will be led through a question and answer session evaluating the software solutions demonstrated. The demonstrations will be evaluated on functional issues, aesthetics, ease of use and other issues. The objective of this evaluation is to determine the one best fit for the organization.

  3. Site Visit

The preferred vendor and product will be further evaluated by visiting a site that is already using the proposed version of software. Key project team members will be able to talk to current users about the proposed solution and how well it works. In the best case, the site is nearby and also in the same general industry but that is not always possible.

  4. Corporate and Reference checking

Other sites using the proposed system or application may be contacted via phone for references and comment. The vendor will be checked for financial stability. Our goal is to ensure that the vendor is a viable concern, capable of providing support for the foreseeable future.
